Is the science moving in your disease area?
Five independent R&D signals per disease: new publications, clinical trials, NIH grants, patents and preprints. Each month's count is compared with the same month a year earlier, and ranked against every month we hold on record, back to 2000 for publications and clinical trials. Publications and patents are measured as a share of everything the source indexed that month.

How it works
Each disease page tracks five signals. Each month's count is compared with the same month a year earlier. Publications are counted as a share of the PubMed records given MeSH headings that month, and patents as a share of all US pre-grant applications published that month. Where both months are under 15 records, or a signal has fewer than 24 months of history, the page shows where the reading sits in its own history instead of a percentage. The term mappings (PubMed MeSH heading, OpenAlex topics, ClinicalTrials.gov conditions, patent CPC) are published on each page.
